And then there was intermittent high pitched beeping. Annoying enough that I had to get up and stand in various parts of the house to figure out where it was coming from. The dog was unhappy, Belac was out of bed. It was the smoke or fire alarm in his bedroom. Found a chair and took out the battery, it still beeped despite being a hard wired alarm. Ugh. Down to the basement I went where our gazillion batteries were. Grateful hubby has always been so diligent about keeping assorted batteries in the house. Yes, there was a square one! Up I went, replaced the battery and shooed Belac and dog back to bed.

Hopefully there will never be a real emergency while hubby is gone.
