First of all, he has been ice skating and playing tennis for the past 3 weeks and it's been great for him.

Over the week end, he slept at a friend's and managed to stay all night. First time in a year he didn't end up home. 

He improved on his Peace essay, even though he already turned it in.

It's almost 2pm and I feel the need for coffee. I don't normally have at this hour, but I've been prepping all day for Belac's birthday sleep over. The house is clean and the bathrooms freshly scrubbed. The table is set with balloons tied to each chair. And I just made up and printed out the new treasure hunt. I am exhausted but happy.

Just folded a load of towels and the last of all the laundry my family did this morning while I was away teaching. Just saw that someone made our bed with clean sheets and literally jumped for joy at the thought of just brushing my teeth and simply falling into bed.

My family and I were walking around Bear Mountain, today, when my husband received an email. His sister-in-law's dad had just died. It made us stop in our tracks. Her dad had been sick for a year with cancer and had seemed to be doing okay. But then he didn't feel well a couple of days ago. Thankfully, his entire family could gather round him and be with him in his last hours. Last year was our first Sunny Patch Thanksgiving and we were 26. This year, it has grown to be a 2 day eating event. We have 24 people for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Some then go home and others arrive from Boston. On Friday, we will be 27 for dinner. Most of the week, we are sleeping 17 under this roof. Everyone showed up to fix things at the house today. Again, our stove is not working properly and I'm cooking for 25 next week. The high hats and other switches that never worked when we moved in are finally getting fixed. Garborator broken and just replaced.
