white clover

7 guys, 4 hours, 34 large bags filled to the brim with just weeds, all on a Sunday morning. Wow, my FIL remarked, I can now see the street!  It is wild what an improvement it is and what a different impression it makes with the yard all cleaned up. One of my neighbors literally breathed a sigh of relief in my presence!

So now there are bald patches everywhere. We'll mulch one large section but in the back, I'm planting white clover. I bought a huge bag of seed for just 20 bucks. The landscaper was astonished. You do realize that's a weed?? And all I could do was laugh. White clover grows in bad soil and needs no watering, unlike grass. It doesn't grow very tall, so you don't have to mow much, and it's green for the most part. At least it's green enough for me. It actually improves soil conditions, too. What's there not to love about a yard full of white clover? Yes, I know! It's a weed. I'm fighting weeds with a weed.
