making the most of it

The towering top heavy trees being gone and the net has changed everything. Last night, we hung out back over wine and badminton. It was surreal. Jake is very good and Belac can occasionally return a shot, though he has the funniest little serve. It's interesting to remember. Even though we had more usable land and a much prettier yard at the house with the hill, we didn't have a big enough space that was flat enough for a badminton net.

So even if it's a small patch of green in the back of this house, it's very valuable. We otherwise never really enjoyed sitting on this driveway, nor was the hilly pachysandra out front an option. That we now have a tucked away spot to be out back for the first time is sweet. It's like we just inherited some real estate!
