IEP meeting

Belac's official IEP meeting this afternoon. It is the most important meeting of the year and I require hubby to be there. Not because I need him to say anything. In fact, it's sometimes better if he doesn't utter a word. His rare presence just keeps everyone on their toes. He knows how to keep a discussion focused and productive. He holds people accountable for their decisions in a way I am sometimes unable. I can be too forgiving at times. We are a bad cop - good cop kind of team.

Not expecting any surprises, but you never know. 6 teachers/administrators will be there, and it's not always possible to predict a last minute kind of glitch. I am pushing for Belac to continue in a typical class with Aide, even if they have to (threaten to) cut back on the Aide in attempt to push him into the modified class, where they will surely save some serious dough. His challenges are not exactly academic, they are behavioral and so I strongly oppose the modified class on those grounds. Wish us luck!
