budding artist

Read over the reams of paperwork today. Came across a report from Belac's art teacher dated June 5. It was a single page among piles of academic testing and updates throughout the year. It was like an after thought but there it was and her succinct observations spoke to me. He has a new art teacher, this year. She wrote:

CONFIDENTIAL TEACHER REPORT

1. List the student's strengths: Belac is wonderful in art. He understands the concepts and techniques. He has a natural talent and should pursue art and art classes (drawing*) in the future.

2. List any weaknesses the student may be having: Belac needs refocusing and help staying on task. Belac tends to lose focus in what he's doing. Belac also has difficulty completing his work on time.

3. Please comment on the student's behavior and effort: Belac's effort is fantastic when kept on task. He gets along most of the time with his peers, but sometimes has difficulty with being focused.

4. Please comment on the progress the student has made this year: He makes more eye contact but should continue working on this. He has better time management regarding his work.
