highlights

Walking around the outside of the Lincoln Memorial, catching the breeze and shade on a scorching hot day and getting a great 360 of DC. I hadn't been there since I was 9 years old.

Visiting the Udvar-Hazy Center. An incredible place to see everything from the Discover and Concord to hobby planes and gliders.

The Building Museum and the Lego Exhibit. We spent hours over Legos in this historic building with ice cold ac. Heaven in more ways than one.

BBQing and swimming at the rooftop deck of my sister's apartment after a hot, sticky day.

Hanging out with sis and her BF, meeting up with old friends... overall, a really nice trip.

Wondered on the way home what the house would feel like, having been gone during 3 very hot days with barely a tree now shading the house. We have no central air and all the windows were shut, but with blinds and curtains drawn and the new aluminum shingled roof of last year. Surprisingly cool in the house, all things considering. Somehow we will (and must) survive the heat of the summer!
