finding norm

Hubby off on a 25 mile bike ride this morning as I got on the treadmill. Is this the new norm? No more lying in bed until he gets back, but lacing up my own shoes too? Hubby also ran a 5K race in Stamford the other night and clocked in at 21 minutes and change. The winner ran the race in 15 minutes! And yesterday, Jake ran a 7:34 mile for a fitness test, coming in at 3rd in his class. I am absolutely convinced he should run regularly, not so much for physical health but for his emotional well-being.... My point is, these are all numbers I can understand and appreciate for the first time now that I am running myself, if you can even call it that. I travel 3 miles in 33 minutes on my feet...

Hubby was on a health kick for 2 years before I joined in. Granted, I have never been fat or inactive but I have to thank him for never making me feel lazy or guilty for sleeping in when he was up and out exercising on the week ends. But now that I'm up and exercising, everyday, I have to wonder if it somehow changes anything about the way he sees me. I mean, even I see myself differently, is the truth.

  1. I know what you mean. I am getting Abi into the gym with me every weekend, for her mental health, rather than physical. There is something very powerful about exercising together and feeling good about it that is very healthy.

It sounds like Jake is a runner!
