He has suddenly developed strong math skills, this quarter. Has entered into the average reading realm for the first time, albeit low average. Still below average in comprehension. Most importantly for me, remarkable improvement in behavior and attention this quarter. Less obsessing about Lily, more playing with other kids... these are the things I heard this morning and it is all good news.

I told this group of six teachers and specialists. I don't know what the results of the NY State exam will be, but even if he performs well enough, there is a story lost in those numbers. The teachers laughed, yes there is! All I have to do is remember where he was in 1st grade to recognize this great distance he's come. Even just looking at him since the beginning of 3rd grade.... We could not have gotten to this point without each of you and I am truly thankful. I am so grateful you did not and have not given up on him.
